Here at K9 Working Dogs we live by the rule that matching the right Level 2 Personal Protection Dog to your personality, situation and lifestyle is most important.

If you and your family are in a "high-risk" security catagory you may want a dog that is more serious, (see Level 3 Executive Protection K9), but if you do not have a constant serious threat or security issue and/or you are on a budget, the Level 2 Personal Protection Dog is the right choice for you!

If you have a low security problem you may want a dog that will alert when a threat is present, but is more relaxed in general. There are several different types of Level 2 Personal Protection Dogs, and here at K9 Working Dogs we are very thorough in our selection process. It is of the utmost importance for your Level 2 Personal Protection Dog to be 100% compatible with your situation, and therefore it is also of the utmost importance that you put your trust in K9 Working Dogs to do what we do best and that is to analyze your needs and wants and then set you up with the Level 2 Protection Dog that best fits your needs!

Initial Handler Training Classes

Handler training for your new Level 2 Personal Protection Dog is necessary for both experienced and inexperienced Handlers. Even seasoned Handlers will need some coaching when they receive their new K9 Working Dogs Level 2 Personal Protection Dog.

In the K9 Working Dogs Handler Course you will learn proper control techniques for your Level 2 Personal Protection Dog in a variety of real-life scenarios. You will also learn how to maximize your safety in any type of confrontational situation with someone who wishes to do harm to you or your family, I.E. Intruder, Car Jacker, Criminal, Stalker, Mugger, etc. You will learn the basics of every day routine, proper care and adjustment.

Continuation Training

Although many other Companies in our industry do not offer any sort of 'Continuation Training' or 'Maintenance Training', we highly recommend it. In some cases, depending on the nature of the situation for which the Level 2 Personal Protection Dog exists, the Dog as well as the Owner/Handler may require a once monthly Training Class. You will be depending upon your new Level 2 Personal Protection Dog for your life, it should go without question that a regularly scheduled Continuation Training program will be in order. Stalkers & Level 2 Personal Protection Dogs

Many of our clients are currently, or have been at some point in time victims of a stalker, or have been victimized in some way. The following are some real statistics on stalking taken from NCVC.org:

Top three reasons victims are being stalked:

1. The stalker wants to control the victim.
2. The stalker wants to keep the victim in relationship.
3. The stalker wants to scare the victim.

Prevalence

1 out of every 12 women will be stalked during her lifetime.
1 out of 45 men will be stalked during his lifetime.
1,006,970 women are stalked annually.
370,990 men are stalked annually.

Stalkers

94% of stalkers identified by female victims were men.
60% of stalkers identified by male victims were men.
87% of stalkers overall were men.

Other Key Findings

81% of women who were stalked by a current or former husband or cohabiting partner were also physically assaulted and 31% were also sexually assaulted by that partner.

77% of female victims were stalked by someone they knew. 59% of female victims were stalked by an intimate partner.

64% of male victims were stalked by someone they knew. 30% of male victims were stalked by an intimate partner.

What would a Level 2 Personal Protection Dog do?

A Level 2 Personal Protection Dog is both a Visual, Verbal and Physical threat to an Intruder, Stalker or Attacker. It is a very well known fact that criminals have a healthy fear of large dogs, and an Intruder, Attacker or Stalker will always be able to sense a Level 2 Personal Protection Dog, and, in most cases will move on to the next victim without incident.

However, if the Intruder, Attacker or Stalker is not deterred by the Visual and/or Verbal warnings from the Level 2 Personal Protection Dog, the dog will become what we call a Man-Stopper! The Level 2 Personal Protection Dog will do whatever it takes to Protect his Owner/Handler!
